Yes, Kaito Sushi sells gift cards.
Service is really slow. Food is good tho.
Best sushi in San Diego. Hands down
great sushi bar!
Great food great prices and selections
Highest quality sashimi I've had in awhile! Great service! Quality, authentic sushi!
Amazing quality! Will be back!
I have followed the owner from prior restaurants where he was always the premier sushi chef. Now that he has his own, he really delivers a complete experience. Truly the best Japanese meal you will ever have while in the USA. A must go place .
Flying out to San Diego and finding a sushi restaurant of this caliber was absolutely amazing! It is a small restaurant and it fills up fast. We had a six o’clock reservation and only waited a few minutes for our table, but shortly after that there was a waiting line. Our sushi came out one at a time and two people’s order came on the same plate. No a big deal, especially when the sushi is so fresh and tender. The rice rolls were the best I’ve ever enjoyed with wonderful flavors and textures. I believe the sushi chef is the owner which explains the delicious food prepared. I will return here again whenever in the area. Thanks for the great food!
I think this cozy restaurant is the best sushi business in North San Diego County. The fish is excellent.
Very creative rolls, good selection of fresh fish
Super fresh and delicious fish. Yummy tempura and soba. My wife and I almost couldn't stop ordering more food. However, would say this place is $$$ if going for sashimi and sushi.
Best I've discovered in north county. Fresh, clean, well presented!
Kaito is full of real, happy, down to earth people who seem to throuoghly enjoy the company of thier customers rather than just the money in thier wallets. Walking in immediately ushers you into a clean and quaint restaurant where attention to detail is paid. The food is delicious and comes out at generous helpings for the price. Will definitely be back.
Sushi is wonderful here. The chef does make recommendations as one poster put it but in my estimation that's his job. We had some salmon skin that literally tasted like a cheeseburger. It was amazing.
From the moment we walked into the small restaurant to being greeted, attended, served and thanked for coming in, was simply wonderful! My mother in law flew from Switzerland and was craving sushi, let’s just say this is her favorite Japanese spot in San Diego! My husband is a huge foodie and really picky with restaurants too and he gave Kaito 10/10. I didn’t catch our waitress’ name but she was great! Will be coming back for your fresh and scrumptious food! I recommend a reservation for a party of 3 or more. The bar is great for couples as walk ins.
Best Sushi in town! Yes, a little expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Fresh, beautifully presented, and, don't go typical here...let the chefs prepare for you. You won't be disappointed. By the way, if you go in a Sushi bar and the majority of patrons are Asian, it is a really good sign that you have come to the right place for authentic cuisine.
Some of the best sushi i've ever had, the head sushi chef was so inviting and talked with us for our whole meal. Fish was super fresh and local, would recommend to anyone looking for some good well priced traditional sushi.
Fantastic sushi. The place is always busy, so call ahead. Worth the wait.
Great place. I need to go yThere again
The best sushi in San Diego. Authentic yet creative. Have a reservation before you come.
The best sushi chef in SD
Good sushi
Our new favorite spot!! Was a total experience. Our chef was amazing. Cute place too.
Very delicious meal!
Best sushi in the county, trust in Omakase
Love this place we always come here great food
Really outstanding sushi, wonderfully fresh fish and interesting flavor combinations. We got sushi and sashimi, along with wonderful service!
I just adore this place. The food is fresh and the service in top notch.
The sushi chef is hilarious! Worth the wait.
Shef has a quite knowledge about fish.
Good stuff. Will return
Meh. Probably won't come again. Underwhelming and a bit overpriced. Server was nice but slow. Requests were not received well by chef, made server come back to try to talk us out of what we wanted. Brown avocados in california roll...cali roll with entire stick of imitation crab, not chopped up. DFR roll was better than average, but I'm not craving it. Need to find s better local sushi spot.
It was ok, a little overpriced for what we got. We both got rolls and they were just ok, not awful or amazing. In retrospect I wish I had gotten nigiri as the fish quality looked pretty good. But I was just in the mood for some rolls and was underwhelmed in the end. We didn’t order much because of the price. The Miso soup was really good. They were really busy so the staff was a tiny bit slow, but they were kind and helpful! I think we may come back when we have a little more money to spend and try more options.
Surely a spot worth stopping by, the food is good and well prepared, the cost is fair and it is regularly neat in here. Highly recommended.
Literally the freshest fish. They get a new shipment of fish for each day and sell until they're out at the end of the night. If you get there late, your selection will be limited. Some of the best sushi I've ever had.
Great place to eat.. great service.. awesome sushi chef.
The best sushi and sushi chef in San Diego. Authentic and fresh fish flown in from all over the world.
Small place, great sushi.
It's a very small place not easy to see from the road. But it's cute inside and fresh sushi.
I always have a wonderful experience here and try to make the trip out as much as I can. I usually get omakase sushi. Kaito takes good care of me and my belly. The fish here is always extremely fresh and delicious. Service is good too. They have a nice selection of sake to go with the sushi. Please enjoy nigiri sushi or sashimi if you want to try this place. Do not waste the resources and talents here on Americanized sushi rolls that you can likely purchase at a supermarket. I’m sure they make bomb California rolls, but why eat that when you can try something much more amazing?
portions are super small, yummy foods but overpriced.also service is slow bc there is just one waiter
Love this place. The fish is so fresh. They have some great hot food as well, but the majority of what I get is the raw fish, sashimi or sushi. It's not a roll-factory like most of the places in San Diego. (Those places are setting a weird expectation in terms of what authentic sushi or Japanese food is really like.) You won't find cream cheese and 15-ingredient rolls here. They have really fresh fish flown in from Japan or based on seasonal availability. This place is for people who are willing to try new things and are open to a changing menu. If you are looking for the standard Dragon roll special at half price, I don't think you'll be happy at this place. It's a small place, and every item is made with care so while it does not take long, you will have to have more patience than the fast-roll production lines of other places that you may be used to.
People give me a strange look when I tell them my favorite sushi place is in a town 30 minutes north of San Diego. But Kazu and Joe really know what they're doing. Sit at the bar and put yourself in their capable hands.
Poor options. Go elsewhere. No AYCE. Poor service.
Amazing! Best sushi place in San Diego! Customer service was top notch, chef's here know what they're doing. Everything was fresh. Must try this place if your in the area. Will difintley be back again. Thank you!
The food is regularly well prepared and yummy, cashiers gives fantastic service. I love how clean it is and character. Will come back again.
I have been going to Kaito for nearly 20 years. Always rely on quality sushi being served and a great experience. Friendly sushi chefs and the omakase is excellent.
I’m from the Pacific Northwest and I’ve been to very many authentic Japanese restaurants, but Kaito Sushi is the most amazing one! Every detail starting with the way the table is set, the selection of the serving dishes and the presentation of the food is artfully done. All the food I ordered was very fresh, the flavors are well balanced and not to mention their Tamago that was the very best I ever had!Being a food enthusiast and a gourmet cook I’m very skeptical about eating out. It was such a pleasure dining at Kaito Sushi! Thank you for all the staff working there for creating such a pleasant experience! I really appreciate all what you do!
Place is good but overrated.
Best sushi needs no elaborate chatter. Fine.
